Got Acne? How To Use Fruit To Clear Your Skin

If you are dealing with acne, you may be willing to try anything to get rid of the acne and get soft, glowing skin. While it may sound a bit fruity, various fruits can be used in different ways to help clear up the acne and give you the flawless skin you desire. Here are a few different ways to use fruit to clear up your acne.

Banana Peel

One of the ways that you can reduce acne and even lighten some of the acne scars you have is to rub a banana peel on your face. After you eat a banana, take the fresh peel and cut out a small square or rectangle from the peel. Rub the peel over your face until it begins to turn brown. If needed, cut out another piece and use more. Your face should be coated in a thin layer of material from the peel. Allow it to sit on your skin for 30 minutes. During this time, your skin will absorb all of the vitamins and nutrients in a banana, which is what helps to eliminate the acne and give you smooth, glowing skin. Repeat this process up to three times a day for best results.

Strawberries contain salicylic acid, which is an ingredient often found in over-the-counter acne cleansers. They also contain antioxidants, which help to revitalize your skin. Follow these directions to use strawberries as an acne treatment:

  1. Place three to four strawberries, along with their stems and leaves when possible, in a bowl. Use a fork to mash them.
  2. Wash your face with a mild cleanser. Do not completely dry your face. Leave it partially damp.
  3. Begin rubbing the strawberry mixture into your face in a circular motion. The seeds have a texture to them which exfoliates and cleanses your face at the same time. Continue this process for 30 to 60 seconds.
  4. Rinse your face with warm water and then use a towel to pat dry your face.
  5. Repeat this process every one to two days for best results.

Eating an apple a day has many benefits. But when you are trying to clear acne from your skin, applying an apple to your face a day may help with this process. Remove the core from the apple and then place the other pieces in a blender or food processor. Blend it until it is smooth, not chunky. Add four tablespoons of honey to the mixture and mix it up again. This time it should have a creamy texture, rather than a runny one. Wash your face and then rub this mixture into your face. Allow it to sit for about 10 minutes or until it begins to dry and harden. Use warm water to wipe it away. Store any remaining mixture in the fridge. Repeat this process daily for the best results.

Apples, bananas and strawberries can be applied to your face to help with your acne. However, if you have tried these treatments and are not seeing any results, you will want to make an appointment with a dermatologist like Associated Skin Care Specialists. You may need prescription acne treatments to get the healthy, acne-free skin you are after.
